Bo Peng
Prof. Bo Peng is a Professor of Geographical Sciences at the Hunan Normal University in China, where he teaches courses in physical Geography. He is the academic director of the Key Discipline, the Geographical Sciences of the Province. His academic expertise lies in both physical geography and environmental geochemistry. Prof. Peng’s research focuses on the environmental geochemistry of black shale weathering and heavy metal contamination of sediments, particularly the Source-Sink process of metals in the environment. By employing lead isotopes and trace metals, he identifies the environmental metals from natural and anthropogenic sources, providing a scientific foundation for improved environmental management, and regional ecological safety.
Prof. Peng has conducted visiting studies in Poland, Denmark, and Australia. In 2014, he was named the academic director of the university scientific and technological innovation team of Hunan province (China).
Prof. Peng has received serval awards, including the Award in Natural Science of Hunan Province (2002, 2009) (China). He is a member of committee on Landscape and the Quaternary of The Geographical Society of China (2024-2028).
