Dr. Nan Zhan
Dr. Zhan, an associate researcher at the National Research Center for Geoanalysis, specializes in organic geochemistry. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Wuhan University, a master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Paris-Sud, and a PhD degree in Geochemistry from Peking University. Her researches mainly focuses on: 1) Developing analytical methods for novel organic pollutants in the environment, as well as investigating their migration, transformation, and risk assessment; 2) Identifying and characterizing biomarkers in organic geochemistry and their application in paleoclimate reconstruction. Dr. Zhan has led two fundamental research projects for the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and currently contributes as a key member of the Chinese National GeoHealth Survey Project. She also serves as secretary of the IMGA Working Group on GeoHealth, where she handles daily affairs and coordinates international liaison activities.
