Prof. Emmanuel Arhin

Co-chair

Prof. Emmanuel Arhin is a distinguished applied geologist and applied geochemist who leverages his profound expertise in geoscience to address and mitigate geohealth challenges that significantly impact environmental well-being. His dedication transcends mere academic inquiry; he passionately advocates for environmental justice, tirelessly striving to foster a sustainable symbiosis between humanity and the Earth. Through his initiatives, Prof. Arhin envisions a future where individuals coexist harmoniously with nature, tackling the pressing issues posed by environmental degradation and associated health risks. To him, prevention represents the new paradigm of curative measures, and we within the geohealth working group must relegate traditional population health approaches to the annals of history, as we will be equipped to delineate the hotspots and cold spots of disease-causing elements. These sources of the disease-causing-elements may be natural, anthropogenic, or a confluence of both.
