Prof. Qingjie Gong

Qingjie Gong is a professor and doctoral supervisor at China University of Geosciences (Beijing). He currently serves as Director of the Applied Geochemistry Committee under the Chinese Society of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, Associate editor of the international journal Applied Geochemistry published by the International Association of Geochemistry. His primary research focuses on applied geochemistry, exploration geochemistry and experimental geochemistry. He has developed background equations for quantitatively characterizing elemental behavior during weathering processes and proposed the “seven levels’ classification” of geochemical anomalies. Furthermore, he established the original theoretical framework of “Geochemical Genes” and proposed the “19-level fixed-value method” for elemental concentration classification. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 academic papers, published nine scholarly monographs, and received seven provincial and ministerial-level scientific awards.
