Prof. Ziyi An

Ziyi An’s research focuses on developing standard analytical methods and preparing certified reference materials (CRMs). She specialises in the quality control of groundwater analysis. She has led or participated in over ten national and geological survey research projects, including key programmes under China’s National Key R&D Programme. She has organised and overseen the development of fifty national CRMs to support the testing of geological samples for geohealth, environmental and eco-geochemical purposes. She has also contributed to the formulation and revision of over seventy analytical testing standards in the natural resources industry. For her work, she has received several provincial and ministerial-level awards, including the Science and Technology Award of the Ministry of Land and Resources, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award, and the China Geological Survey Achievement Award. She has published over ten scientific papers and co-/translated two monographs. Prof. An currently serves on several national standardisation committees, including the National Technical Committee on Reference Materials (SAC/TC 118). Internationally, she is a member of the ISO/TC 334 Reference Materials working groups on Terminology and Definitions and Metal Purity Reference Materials.
