Dr. Mike Zhongyu He
Dr. He is an Instructor in the Department of Environmental Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He also holds appointments as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Sociology at Columbia University and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Barnard College.
An air pollution epidemiologist and exposure scientist by training, Dr. He’s research focuses on the health effects of air pollution in low- and middle-income countries, the applications of satellite data for environmental health studies, and quantifying the effects of climate change-induced air pollution. More recently, his work has focused on air pollution exposure modeling using machine learning-based approaches and investigating the effects of environmental mixtures on immune function and vaccine antibody response.
Dr. He holds a BA in Public Health and Earth & Planetary Sciences from Johns Hopkins University, an MHS in Environmental Health Sciences from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a PhD in Environmental Health Sciences from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. He completed postdoctoral training in environmental epidemiology and exposure sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
